Frequently Asked Questions

Material, sizing, shipping and returns questions about kitchenware, cookware, tabletop and small kitchen appliances at KitchenPartHQ.

Sizing, material and compatibility

How do I check that a piece matches what I already own?

Compare four things before you order: the capacity or diameter printed on the item you are replacing, the material (porcelain, stoneware, glass, stainless steel, cast aluminium), the model number in the product title, and the dimensions listed on the page. Sets from the same collection are often sold in several sizes that look identical in photos, so the capacity figure is the safest match.

Are the capacities and dimensions on your pages exact?

They are taken from the supplier specification for each item. Capacities are stated as usable volume and dimensions as external size, so a 1.2 L flask holds about 1.2 L and a 24 cm stand measures 24 cm across its widest point. Where a supplier quotes a range, we publish the range rather than an average.

Is everything you sell safe for food contact?

Yes. Every item we list is sold as food-contact kitchenware by its manufacturer. Glazed ceramics are lead- and cadmium-free for food use, stainless steel items are 18/8 or 18/10 grade where stated, and plastics are food-grade. Decorative pieces such as candle holders, incense burners and wall art are labelled as decorative and are not intended for food.

Can I put these items in the dishwasher, microwave or oven?

It depends on the material, and the product page states it where the supplier confirms it. As a rule: glazed porcelain and stoneware are dishwasher safe but not oven safe; glassware is dishwasher safe on a low cycle; stainless steel cookware is dishwasher safe but hand washing keeps the finish; cast aluminium and non-stick pans should be hand washed; wooden boards, bamboo and gold- or silver-trimmed pieces should never go in a dishwasher or microwave.

Will your cookware work on an induction hob?

Only where the listing says induction ready. Induction needs a magnetic base, so stainless steel with an encapsulated or tri-ply base, cast iron and enamelled steel work; plain aluminium, copper and most ceramic or glass vessels do not. If the page does not mention induction, treat the item as suitable for gas, electric and ceramic hobs only.

Shipping and delivery

How long does delivery take?

Orders are picked and handed to the carrier within 1–2 business days. Delivery then typically takes 3–7 business days within the contiguous United States. A tracking link is emailed as soon as the parcel leaves our warehouse, and tracking usually starts updating within 24 hours.

When does shipping become free?

Standard shipping is free on orders over $39 after any discounts. Below that threshold a flat $10.00 standard rate applies. Alaska, Hawaii and US territories are quoted separately at checkout because carrier surcharges apply to those destinations.

Do you ship outside the United States?

Our standard checkout covers the United States. For Canada, the UK, the EU and Australia we can quote a tracked international parcel — email us the item codes and the delivery postcode before ordering and we will confirm the freight cost and the expected transit time.

Orders, returns and invoices

Can I change or cancel an order after placing it?

Email us with the order number as soon as possible. We can normally amend an address or cancel an order while it is still in the picking queue. Once a parcel has been handed to the carrier it cannot be recalled, but you can refuse delivery or return it under the standard return policy.

What if an item arrives chipped, cracked or broken?

Email us within 48 hours of delivery with the order number and photographs of the item and the outer carton. Ceramics and glass are packed for transit, and damage that happens on the way to you is resolved at our cost, including the return label or a replacement shipment. Keep the packaging until the claim is settled, as carriers may ask to inspect it.

Can I return an item that has been used?

Unused items in their original packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Once cookware, cutlery or drinkware has been used for food preparation it cannot be resold, so used items are accepted only where the product is faulty. Sealed consumables such as food wraps and covers must be unopened.

Do you provide invoices for business or commercial kitchen orders?

Yes. A PDF invoice is generated for every order and can be downloaded from your account. If you need the invoice addressed to a company with a purchase order reference, or need a W-9 for your accounts department, email us the order number and the billing details and we will reissue it.

What warranty applies to commercial kitchen equipment?

Commercial refrigeration, warming and holding units, work tables and shelving carry the manufacturer warranty stated on the product page, typically 1 year for parts and labour on refrigeration and 1–2 years on stainless fabrication. Consumables, glassware and light catering smallwares are not covered beyond the standard return window.

Why does the same item appear at two different prices?

Because they are different listings. A single piece, a set of four and a commercial pack of twelve are separate products with separate prices, and the same design can also appear in more than one finish. Check the pack quantity and the colour in the product title before comparing, and note that a lower price with a higher unit count is usually the set rather than a discount on the single piece.

Full delivery and return conditions are on our Returns & Shipping page.
